Kitri's Exit Stage Left
Here they are. All finished. Knitting the sock was fun once the yarn that came in the kit was replaced with something that didn't split every other stitch. Now, just to let you know and be fair to the yarn, it's actually my style of knitting that's the problem - not the yarn. I am a sloppy knitter, and rely on the yarn to help each stitch. Placing the needle is not a strong point here and most yarns cooperate. Since a full catch of the yarn with the needle often escapes me, some yarns will split as a result. This is often a yarn with nylon in it, which the kit yarn does contain.
As you can see, the lace cuff got ditched. Frustration played a large part in the decision to leave it off. After struggling to get it going, once it was there, I could not get it to look good. That's probably a skills issue. There's no point in spoiling a pretty sock with an ugly finish.
There were problems with the pattern, and mistakes in both the chart and written instructions for the large sized sock. It was easy enough to resolve the issues, but it did cause some difficulty at the time. To avoid forgetting how the stitches were executed, and the errors in the pattern, almost nothing else was worked on after they got picked up again. I did want to knit the fancy heel and toe options, but did not have confidence they were correct in the pattern and did not want to spend the time to working anything out.

I've been looking at my Ravelry projects. There are only 17 active (started) projects. Wow.
