In a Bit of a Flap

Some yarn seems to have been misplaced for the No Sew Squares Blanket. A number of mitred squares were knitted up in different colourways during a prolonged experimentation stage at my desk. Many of the balls of yarn are noticeably lighter than others. Now, none of those mitred squares were discarded, so the yarn should all be there, but it really doesn’t look like it. The 40 round No Sew Squares take almost the whole ball of yarn. About 10 metres remain after a square, but I’d like each square to be knitted out of one contiguous ball of yarn. Reconstructing the started balls should not be much of an issue since it's easily seen which ball a mitred square was knitted from. That's if their bits and pieces can be found. Only four untouched skeins remain. I know, I know. The experimentation should have been carried out with only one or two balls of yarn. But those colours are so pretty and I am so weak. So, so very weak.

The Kitri’s have come out to play again. Really, the Kitri’s should not get put down for long. Every time they are, the errors in the fan pattern get forgotten and a tinking and fussing session ensues. Not to mention, forgetting how some of the stitches get executed (due to my knitting style) is a reality. Putting some notes on the pattern would get rid of those problems, but why spare myself the frustration? In any case, the new yarn is working out very well (no more splitty, fraying stitches) and the first cuff has passed the halfway mark. The pattern calls for a short row heel, which may get replaced with a heel flap.
